Join us for the 2017 WISE Houston Power Play as we commemorate women who have pioneered the Houston energy industry.

 

Alexandra Franceschi is an experienced communications and external affairs professional with statewide and presidential campaign experience in both national and Hispanic media.

As the associate director of special projects and events at BP, she manages the company’s strategic sponsorship events and leads its signature sponsorship in Houston, the BP MS 150. In addition, she plays a vital role in setting crisis communications policy and managing crisis communications capability in the United States, while also serving as the internal communications manager for BP Wind Energy, leading communications strategy for the business.

For part of 2014 and 2015, Franceschi was seconded to Reliance Industries in Mumbai, India, where she developed and managed an integrated communications plan for the transformation of the human resources function.

During the 2012 election cycle, Franceschi served as the specialty media press secretary for the Republican National Committee, setting Hispanic media strategy and coordinating with the Mitt Romney presidential campaign.

She began her career serving as a legislative aide for Reps. Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Francisco Canseco.

Alexandra holds a degree in government and legal studies from Bowdoin College and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.

 

Heidi Massey-Bong is currently the US Sponsorship Manger for Shell wherein, she manages key sponsorships for Shell including Team Penske and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.  She is accountable for strategy development, business development, contract compliance, branding, merchandising, ROI and measurement, communications, technical alliances, show car program and hospitality.

Heidi joined Shell in 1994 as a summer intern.  After graduating from Wilmington College she joined Shell as an Account Manager supporting the Shell brand in Dayton, OH.  She was transferred to the Boston, MA market in the fall of 1995 where she continued in the role as Account Manager before moving into Shell’s franchise business and then into Real Estate.  In 2000 she became a Wholesale Manager in North Carolina working with Shell Wholesalers to convert Texaco business to the Shell brand.  In 2005 she moved into Shell’s headquarters in Houston, TX where she worked as a Project Implementer before taking her current assignment in 2007.

Heidi has a B.S. in Economics from Wilmington College in Wilmington, OH.  In 2014 Heidi was named as part of the Game Changers:  Women in Sports Business by Sports Business Journal.

In her leisure time, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband John and two daughters, Anna (10) and Sara (8).

 

With over twenty years’ experience, Joni Baird has proven her expertise in bringing together the strategy for community engagement, charitable investments, volunteerism, sponsorships, issues management and local government relations to advance corporate social responsibility.

In her role as Policy, Government and Public Affairs Manager for Chevron in Houston, Joni and her team represent the local workforce of 9,000 in the community.  Their work has resulted in numerous Social Responsibility awards for Chevron.

Ms. Baird is active in numerous civic and nonprofit organizations including the Greater Houston Partnership, American Leadership Forum and the Center for Houston’s Future. In 2009, she was selected as one of Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women.

She earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Management both from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.  In 1999, Ms. Baird received the Excellence in Teaching award from Regis University, where she was an Adjunct Professor in the Masters of Nonprofit Management program and also taught in the distance learning program.

Guests who decide to join WISE Houston at the event or within a week following, the guest fee paid will be credited towards the annual membership fee.
